Twice as Nice: Wolfpack and Cyclones Black Punch Tickets to MOSA Cup Finals
Hamilton, NJ – It was a week of high drama and high stakes for Hamilton Soccer Club, and when the dust settled, the entire Hamilton community had a reason to celebrate. While league titles are on the line, the talk of the town is a pair of massive MOSA Cup Semi-Final victories this past Tuesday, November 4th, that have sent two of Hamilton’s own to the championship.
This thrilling cup news came on the heels of a tremendous league weekend. The club’s teams put on a fantastic showing at the HTRSA COMPLEX and on the road, posting a stellar combined record of 7 wins, 1 tie, and only 3 losses this past Sunday, November 2nd.
With multiple teams charging toward league titles and two now preparing for a cup final, the November chill has done nothing to cool off the red-hot action from our local athletes.
Wolfpack Dominate to Reach First-Ever Final
The first piece of massive news comes from the HamiltonSC Wolfpack, who are in the midst of a truly historic season. On Tuesday night, the Wolfpack hosted Brick for their MOSA Cup Semi-Final at the HTRSA Complex and put on an absolute clinic, dismantling their opponent in a dominant 6-0 victory.
The win secures the Wolfpack’s first-ever trip to the MOSA Cup Final, a monumental achievement for the players and coaches. This team has been a force of nature all season, and their semi-final performance was a statement, proving they are ready to compete for the biggest prize.
The cup run is no surprise to those who have followed their league play. The Wolfpack are still undefeated in league play and, following a 3-0 road win against Stafford on Sunday, have locked up first place in the highly competitive Premier flight.
Shootout Thriller: Cyclones Black Win Derby to Advance
In the other MOSA Cup Semi-Final on Tuesday, the drama was off the charts. The HamiltonSC Cyclones Black faced their cross-town rivals, the Hibernians, in a match that will be talked about for years.
After 90 minutes of grueling, back-and-forth action, the two rivals were deadlocked in a 2-2 tie. The game headed to a tense shootout to decide who would advance to the final. With ice in their veins, the Cyclones Black held their nerve and emerged victorious in the penalty-kick tiebreaker, sending their players and fans into a well-deserved celebration.
Winning a semi-final is special, but doing it in a shootout against your biggest rival is the stuff of legends. Congratulations to the Cyclones Black on a hard-fought and thrilling victory.
The Future is Bright: 2018 Black Remain Unbeaten
The club’s success isn’t just with the older teams. The HSC 2018 Black are proving they are a powerhouse in the making. This squad is also undefeated on the season, posting an incredible 7-0-1 record.
They continued their dominant run this past Sunday, hosting East Windsor PAL United at the HTRSA COMPLEX and cruising to an emphatic 7-0 win. With their sights set on the top of the table, the 2018 Black team can lock up their flight championship with a win in their next match.
Vipers Topple the Undefeated
One of the weekend’s biggest headlines came from the Hamilton SC Vipers, who had a massive test at home. The Vipers hosted a previously undefeated Ocean Township side and delivered a gutsy, resilient performance.
In a tight battle, the Vipers pulled off the upset, handing Ocean their first loss of the season in a 2-1 victory. This win is huge, not just for the points, but for the team’s confidence as they head into the final stretch.
The Vipers are one of the hottest teams in the club, with this victory marking their fourth consecutive win.
Weekend Roundup: Streaks and Bounce-Backs
Across the club, the winning mentality was on full display. The HamiltonSC Predators showed incredible resilience. After a tough loss two weeks ago, they have bounced back in dominant fashion. They won 2-1 on October 26th and followed it up this Sunday with a 6-1 thumping of the Toms River Nighthawks at the HTRSA COMPLEX, putting them on a strong two-game winning streak.
The HamiltonSC Cosmos are also on a tear, quietly building a three-game winning streak of their own. Their latest victory was a clinical 5-0 shutout on the road against Beachwood, as they continue to climb the standings.
The Hamilton SC Cyclones Red also made a statement, traveling to Jackson and coming home with a decisive 4-0 victory, extending their own unbeaten streak to three games.
Rounding out the wins, the Hamilton SC Hype Black secured a thrilling 4-3 victory on the road against Wall SC Fire, grabbing a crucial win in a high-scoring affair.
Not every match ended in a win, but the fight was evident. The Hamilton SC Scorpions battled to a hard-earned 3-3 tie at home against Mercer United, splitting the points in an exciting match.
The Hurricanes, Strikers, and Cyclones all faced tough opponents and fell short on the scoreboard, but they battled hard to the final whistle and will look to rebound strong in their next matches.
A Season to Remember
As we enter the final weeks of the fall season, Hamilton Soccer Club is in an incredible position. With two teams playing for a MOSA Cup Championship and multiple teams on the verge of clinching league titles, the hard work of these players, coaches, and families is paying off.
Congratulations to all the teams on a fantastic weekend, and a special good luck to the Wolfpack and Cyclones Black in their upcoming finals!
